CPC Refresher Course – Road Haulage & Passenger

Many Transport Managers do not undertake any formal refresher training after passing their CPC. In some cases, this may be in excess of twenty years.

Companies that find themselves in front of a Traffic Commissioner (TC) at a Public Inquiry (PI) often find that attending CPC refresher training is a condition required to allow continuation of the ‘O’ Licence, even if the CPC was passed very recently.

Year on year the Transport Manager CPC syllabus goes through a variety of updates, it’s, therefore, an essential requirement for transport professionals to ensure their knowledge base is up to speed with these key operational changes.

Course Overview

This is a course concerned with EU, domestic, and mixed driving hours. It is often described as more of a ‘workshop’, as exercises are incorporated into the course to further aid learning. An ‘in-house’ assessment is held at the end of the course and a certificate is awarded to successful candidates.

Courses are held regularly throughout the year or for group bookings on request.

The outcome of the course – Management Refresher

Provides the Transport Manager with updated information for the purpose of maintaining their professional competence. This course makes an important contribution to the Managers continuing professional development.

Certification

An attendance certificate is awarded on satisfactory completion of this course.

Entry requirements

Although there are no formal requirements Managers will be expected to have a standard of literacy and numeracy and a level of industry knowledge appropriate for a person working at level 3.

Suitable for

Transport Managers who wish to ensure that they are abreast of the current legislative requirements and remain compliant with the legal undertakings of the operator licence.

Course content

The CPC Refresher is a two-day course, with the first day qualifying 7 hours Driver CPC. For those looking to sit an Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT) this can be sat on day one of the CPC Refresher course.
