Introduction to Health & Safety and Banksman Duties

Banksman training ensures that an organisation meets its legal requirements and reduces the risk of costly accidents when carrying out common, but dangerous, reversing manoeuvres. Nearly a quarter of all deaths involving vehicles at work occur during reversing. Many other reversing accidents do not result in injury but cause costly damage to vehicles, equipment and premises.

Outcome of the course

  • Appreciate the meaning of risk and the cause of accidents at work

Introduction to Health & Safety and Manual Handling

Manual handling training is a legal requirement in any situation where your staff are required to do any lifting, lowering, pulling or pushing that carries any level risk. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations (1992) require employers to avoid the need for hazardous manual handling, assess the risk of injury from any hazardous manual handling that can’t be avoided and to reduce the risk of injury from hazardous manual handling
