Ridgeway training offers CPC Training courses for both National and International Road Haulage

National Road Haulage

An intensive nine-day course (including examination day) for the National qualification, leading up to and including a formal assessment by the examining board OCR.

The course covers:

  • Unit 1: The Legal and Business Context
  • Unit 2: Understanding National Road Haulage Operations
  • Unit 4: Managing National Road Haulage Operations

Course Title
Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage

Outcome of the course:
Allows the holder to apply for a Standard National Operators Licence, proving that they are professionally competent, which enables an operator to carry goods for hire or reward in the UK.

Entry Requirements:
This is a management qualification, so although there are no minimum entry qualifications, a basic knowledge of accounting procedures, maintenance records etc is an advantage but not essential.

Suitable for:
Those who wish to apply for a Standard National Operators Licence, or hold the position of Transport Manager.

Course Duration
9 day intensive including the examination day.

Assessment:
Unit 1 – 30 multi-choice questions in 45 minutes
Unit 2- 40 multi-choice questions in 60 minutes
Unit 4 – Written paper (case study) 120 minutes

Examination Results:

International Road Haulage

For operators who wish to operate or transport goods overseas also require the additional four-day International course. This covers the syllabus requirements for Unit 6.

Course Title:
Certificate of Professional Competence in International Road Haulage

Outcome of Course:
Meets the requirements of EU directives 74/561 and 89/438 for admission to the occupation of International Road Haulage Operator.

Entry Requirements:
Must already hold a National Road Haulage qualification, having passed Units 1, 2 and 4

Suitable for:
Those who either wish to add to a National qualification, or wish to apply for a full International Road Haulage Operators Licence

Course Duration
4 day intensive including the examination day.

Assessment:
Written Paper (direct questions) – 60minutes

Examination Results:
