Passenger Transport CPC for Managers

An intensive nine-day course (including exam day), leading up to and including a formal assessment by the examining board OCR. The course covers:

  • Business and Company Law , Industrial Relations, Health and Safety, Financial Management, Commercial Conduct of the Business, Marketing, Organisation Charts, KPIs and Work Plans, Business Taxation Operator Licensing, Drivers’ Hours and Records, Planned Preventive Maintenance, Vehicle Costing, Vehicle Taxation, Contracts of Carriage and Conduct Regulations, Electronic Data, Weights and Dimensions of Vehicles, Bus and Coach Service Operations, Competition Rules, Mechanical Condition, Driver Licensing, Speed Limits and Traffi c Regulations, Traffiic Accident Procedure, Insurance, Vehicle Selection, Fares, Revenue and Tenders, Timetabling and Scheduling, Frontier Crossings and International Transport Documentation

Qualification:
Certificate of Professional Competence in Passenger Transport

Outcome of Course:
Meets the requirements of EU directive 98/76/EC for admission to the occupation of Passenger Transport Operator, and meets the requirements of Professional Competence

Entry Requirements:
This is a management qualification, so a basic understanding of accounting procedures, maintenance records etc. is an advantage, but not essential and there are no age restrictions

Suitable for:
Those who wish to apply for a Standard National or International PSV Operators’ Licence, or hold the position of Transport Manager

Course Duration
9 day intensive including the examination day.

Assessment:
Unit P1
This Unit is assessed by a single two hour examination consisting of 60 multiple choice type questions. A notional pass mark of 70% is applied to this examination.

Unit P2
An open book case study examination which consists of a scenario followed by questions to be answered in two hours. Question types include short answer responses, longer length analytical responses, drawing up schedules, interpreting data and numerical calculations. A notional pass mark of 50% is applied to this examination.

Examination Results:
