Ridgeway training offers CPC Training courses for both National and International Passenger Transport

National Passenger Transport

An intensive nine-day course (including exam day) for the National qualification, leading up to and including a formal assessment by the examining board OCR. The course covers:

  • Unit 1: The Legal and Business Context
  • Unit 3: Understanding National Passenger Transport Operations
  • Unit 5: Managing National Passenger Transport Operations

Qualification:
Certificate of Professional Competence in National Passenger Transport

Outcome of Course:
Meets the requirements of EU directive 98/76/EC for admission to the occupation of Passenger Transport Operator, and meets the requirements of Professional Competence

Entry Requirements:
This is a management qualification, so a basic understanding of accounting procedures, maintenance records etc. is an advantage, but not essential and there are no age restrictions

Suitable for:
Those who wish to apply for a Standard National PSV Operators’ Licence, or hold the position of Transport Manager

Course Duration
9 day intensive including the examination day.

Assessment:
Unit 1 – 30 multi-choice questions in 45 minutes
Unit 3 – 40 multi-choice questions in 60 minutes
Unit 5 – written paper (case study) 120 minutes

Examination Results:

International Passenger Transport

Operators who wish to operate or transport people overseas also require the additional three-day International course. This covers the syllabus requirements for Unit 7.

Qualification:
Certificate of Professional Competence in International Passenger Transport

Outcome of course:
Meets the requirements of EU directive 74/562 and 89/438 for admission to the occupation of road passenger transport, as required by the public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981, the Transport Act 1985 and the PSV (Operators Licence) Regulations 1986 SI 1668. Meets the requirements for professional competence for International Passenger Operations.

Entry Requirements:
For a full International certificate, the candidate must also pass units 1, 3 and 5, therefore hold a full National Passenger Transport Certificate. It is advisable to pass these modules first.

Suitable for:
Those who wish to add to the National Passenger Transport qualification, or wish to apply for a full International Passenger Operations licence.*

Course Duration
4 day intensive including the examination day

Assessment:
Unit 7 – written paper(direct questions) 60 minutes

Examination Results:
