Rules & Regulations For Passenger Transfer In France Part 4 – International CPC Courses

On returning to Geneva from France we noticed a heavy presence of the Gendarmerie, two operators had their vehicles impounded, their customers had to seek other forms of transport and it certainly damaged their reputation. Not only with their customers but with the Enforcement Agency themselves so imagine if you were this company, would an application from you be accepted with ease?

For business owners or companies carrying out Geneva airport transfers from France, it is obligatory to obtain a special EC authorisation from the Swiss authorities, which currently costs in the region of 400CHF.

An application for this authorisation must be made in writing to the Swiss authorities.

It should be noted that as of 01/01/2013 the Geneva Airport authorisation will only be issued to official airport transfer companies that have a transport licence.

This sounds like me but what does it mean? Ridgeway Training – International CPC Courses

Financial capacity is where the business owner or company has to prove they have at all times a minimum capital reserve of : – 1,500 Euros per annum PER VEHICLE with less than 8 seats (including driver) – 9,000 Euros per annum for the first vehicle used with more than 8 seats (including driver) and 5,000 Euros per additional vehicle used. In some circumstances, it may be possible to obtain a guarantee for 50% of the capital reserve required.

All supporting documentation must be certified by a bank then a chartered accountant and included in the initial licence application and each year an updated certification must be supplied by means of the tax declaration section from the end of year accounts.

Professional ability means that the transport manager has to provide proof of a diploma authorising them to transport passengers (French or EU international passenger transport certificate). This is issued by the local Prefecture in France when the person has passed a written exam according to the EC regulations, or when they have the correct state diplomas or certificates enabling them to access this profession without passing the exam. The transport certificate may also be issued to people who can prove they have managed a passenger transport business consecutively over the past 10 years.
